CBCT Interpretation
We pursue relationships based on transparency, persistence, mutual trust, and integrity with our employees, customers and other business partners.
We provide online/offisite reporting of CBCT studies. If you have a CBCT machine in your practice and need a professional report for your studies – we can help you. We provide accurate and detailed reports for your Cone Beam CT studies, self written by dental physicians who are specialized in oral and maxillofacial radiology. We provide customized reports to the dental practices according to their specific requirements.
We use cloud storage for efficient sharing of study files from the imaging centers. Reports are delivered within 24-48 hours of study upload. Our reporting fees starts from 30 USD. We can also provide you free sample reporting for your studies to assess the quality of our reports.
We provide detailed interpretation for:
- Implant planning
- Pathology reporting
- Cephalometric tracings
- Bone density assessment
- Airway assessment
- Maxillary sinus assessment
- Temporomandibular joint views and assessment
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) as the name suggests is a radiographic technique where a cone-shaped beam is projected on to the area of interest also known as field of view (FOV) and a reciprocating flat panel detector rotates around the patient in 180-360 degrees which captures a planned data in single scan (5 to 40 seconds).
The captured 2D images are then sent to the computer where a Feldkamp algorithm reconstructs them into the anatomical volume for viewing in axial, coronal and sagittal planes (orthogonal planes).
The whole captured data is in the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) format, which can be viewed using imaging softwares and images can be interpreted by a dental radiology specialist at the practice or from a different place (teleradiology).
CBCT gives precise measurements due to sub-millimeter resolution with rapid scan time reduced radiation dose and lesser image artifact. It has display modes unique to maxillofacial imaging due to which along with orthogonal planes, CBCT data sets can also be segmented nonorthogonally (MPR) to provide oblique and curved planar reformation (distortion free simulated panoramic images).
Applications of CBCT in dentistry:
- Dental implants planning & surgical guides
- Diagnosis & Pre-surgical evaluation for various pathologies and unerrupted teeth
- Endodontics (minor cracks in tooth, missed canals & precise length of root canals)
- Periodontics (measuring the pdl space and alveolar bone density, soft tissue CBCT for measuring the gingival tissue and dentogingival unit)
- Orthodontics
- CBCT sialography for exact location of sialolith and its dimensions.
- Maxillofacial trauma
- TMJ
- Airway analysis
- An ENT surgeon can also use CBCT for measurement of Eustachian tube
- Forensic odontology.
